All the way to Avalon
All around the day
My thoughts do walk on holy ground
all my dreams do stray
Carried upon the healing water
by the crystal shore
Come speak to me in centuries
Where I have dreamed before
Where I have dreamed before, child
Where I have dreamed before
All the way to Avalon
All around the day
In a poem of old hidden three-fold
I journey upon my way
Through shapeless nights and echoes of light
to the place where legends fly
To an island of glass
where all secrets do pass
Where the heart can see more than the eyes
All around the day
All around the way
Come speak to me in centuries
Where I have dreamed before
Where I have dreamed before, child
Where I have dreamed before
This is the place where oak trees have spoken
This is the place i will stay
Why do i feel like i've been here before now
Why do my steps know the way
past the gate of wishing places
i linger by the wall
and i hurry midst the morning grasses
to catch the marsh mist fall
All around the way
All around the day
Oh, come speak to me in centuries
Where i have dreamed before
Where I have dreamed before, child
Where I have dreamed before
All the way to Avalon
All around the day
my thoughts do walk on holy ground
all my dreams
do stray ~

i visit the old tree
in the grey of winter
by the mountain
in the shawl of days
Gathered around me
in deep browns and velvet
moss
and the short grass of winter
These are the days
that stay forever
These are the moments
We cling to warmth
The season charms through me
Like rivers of ribbons
it weaves
in my heart
the stories
Dark are the days
i hurry faster
To sit by the window
Like a flame and gaze
Ice patterns moving
with each breath i am taking
full
as the moon sweeps faster

Daughter, Last Night When the Moon Was Yellow
Last night when the moon was yellow
i held my heart up to its warm glow
and in the signal of a fire
i watched it burn to a whisper
Letting go is such a hard
to stop dangling, to stop trying
Place your words upon the flood rock
but where to place your desire
CH: Oh you can't stop the water
though you try my precious daughter
Oh you can't stop the water
but there's a lesson let it go, let it flow
For every time that i was losing
there was a time that i was choosing
Which step to place before me
Which direction goes my story
And all the stars they still do shimmer
As my thoughts begin to dimmer
i dance upon the mystery
how love can bind
but knows no boundaries
Oh you can't stop the water
though you try my precious daughter
Oh you can't stop the water
but there's a lesson
let it go
there's a lesson
let it go
let it go ~

i stare across the treetops
right into your eyes
i carry your picture
deep inside
and your words echo my words
your kisses mirror mine
we move like water
through the depths of time
My journeyman ~
And when i think of all before us
i'll never be the same
there's only forward
no back the way we came
and your words echo my words
your kisses mirror mine
we move like water
through the depths of time
My journeyman ~
And who am i to question
for you know as well as i
how we're always seeking miracles
when the miracle's inside
and your words echo my words
your kisses mirror mine
we move like water
through the depths of time
My journeyman ~
My journeyman ~
All around this winter's town
the wind does blow
the wind does sound
here beneath the bearded sky
the old man he does smile
the old man he does smile
Cysga di fy mhlentyn tllws....
cei gysgu tan y bore
Sleep my beautiful child until the morning
Once twice born we're on our way
the days grow tall
the night wears away
and here i hold the flower maid
as if my own heart beating
as if my own heart beating
The oak king and the holly king
once again they're battling
the victor will restore the spring
but i still hear the wind whistling
i hear the wind whistling
I followed you home
To the house on the right
The yellow clapboard
And a window of glare
I sang by your kitchen
To the sound of fresh peas being snapped
Through the gate of a splintered barn
Where the wind swings the livery sign
A little more crooked
I was late with my visit
But on time with my heart.
Your eyes were my hopes
I heard the pain of adventure
And the nervous laugh of fear
I was late with my visit
But still you appeared.
Womanly woman, wifely wife
Who held my dad’s playmate
into life seemingly unpoetic
Among the lime washed sidewalks
Upon rough cement steps
where lacy brambles have fallen
but lifted again
You’re a strong figure in my vein’s portrait ~
And her words carry my wonderings
Like a starchy white envelope
Filled with greeting
And when I visit again
I will have sung your recollections
Like lips pressed on china
Held up to sunlight
Opaque muted
But in fullness of spirit
For I was a little late with my visit
But on time with my heart.
